The Challenge
The Tri Hita Karana (THK) Forum on Sustainable Development is a highly influential platform linking global and local public, private, and civil stakeholders with the common goal of driving impact for climate actions and the SDGs. Launched in 2013, the mission of the THK Forum is to accelerate global and collective action for high-impact system change initiatives focusing on the harmony of people, the planet, and the spiritual. The THK Forum is co-hosted under the honorary patronage of the President of Indonesia with the Government of Indonesia and supported by a network of strategic international partners, the International Chamber of Commerce, UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, BSDC Global Blended Finance Taskforce, the World Bank, IMF, OECD, World Economic Forum, et al.
Our Approach
The 2022 THK Forum on Sustainable Development with the theme “Future Knowledge and Blended Finance” underscores catalytic finance and technological innovation’s crucial role in unlocking transformative system change solutions to accelerate the transition towards a sustainable and inclusive recovery for Indonesia, the region and the world. THK events were held as side events of the 2022 G20 Leaders’ Summit in Bali. To ensure the publication surrounding the events, ID COMM was appointed as the public relations partner to support the media relations arrangement and social media presence at the THK Forum digital platform.
The Result
Several press releases were disseminated to the media, each corresponding to a different sub-topic of the THK Forum. In total, ten press releases were distributed on topics such as the USD 30 billion targeted fund from blended finance, the THK Future Knowledge Summit, the dialogue between Nadiem Makarim and Elon Musk, the PLN agreement with Amazon for 210 MW of solar project in Indonesia, and Ocean 20. The total coverage of the overall press release distribution was 503 articles, consisting of the local, national, and international media. Meanwhile, ID COMM supported THK Forum for social media activation by producing six content for Instagram stories and ten content posts mirrored to Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Between 13 to 30 November 2022, the overall content created during the main event in Bali generated 561 interactions/engagements, 577,722 reach, and was potentially viewed (impressions) 7,781 times. It shows that social media has become a powerful communication channel to disseminate messages regarding sustainable development, especially during the Tri Hita Karana Forum (THK Forum) main event on 13 – 18 November 2022, “Future Knowledge and Blended Finance for Better Business Better World.” Major social media platforms, namely Instagram, Facebook, and Instagram owned by THK Forum, effectively reached audiences and stakeholders, such as the government, experts, development organizations, education institutions, and business stakeholders.
