Strategic collaboration has long been recognized as a driver of economic growth. Cross-sector partnerships are becoming increasingly essential for industries seeking to enhance productivity, profitability, and long-term growth. According to Masrokhan, Head of the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BDSMI) at the Ministry of Industry, collaboration plays a central role in fostering growth by creating avenues for knowledge exchange and building strategic alliances.

This approach not only strengthens inter-industry networks but also expands channels of communication with the public, laying the foundation for a sustainable growth ecosystem. The strategy is evident in the efforts of VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, which is steadily deepening its footprint in Indonesia. As demand for EVs accelerates, VinFast is positioning itself not just as a provider of innovative vehicle but as a creative partner in shaping Indonesia’s green mobility transition.

At the GIIAS 2025 auto show this past July, VinFast went beyond simply showcasing its lineup. The company unveiled a series of creative collaborations that highlighted its vision of integrating mobility and lifestyle. Among them was a partnership with renowned IKAT Indonesia designer Didiet Maulana, who unveiled a fashion collection titled Amatra Kalanara. VinFast also introduced special-edition models: the VF 6 in collaboration with Disney’s Lilo & Stitch and the VF 7 inspired by Marvel’s Fantastic Four. Adding to the excitement, VinFast partnered with Garuda Sepak Bola Indonesia (GSI) to host a meet-and-greet with national football team players. To further engage audiences, VinFast organized VINTALKS—a public discussion series featuring its creative and business partners.

Why Auto Shows Still Matter

Auto shows are more than a marketplace for vehicles. They serve as strategic stages for automakers to showcase innovation, strengthen brand awareness, and connect with diverse stakeholders. In today’s digital-first, highly competitive global market, participating in such exhibitions also means creating two-way communication channels—directly engaging with consumers, media, and potential business partners.

Visitors gain firsthand experience of the vehicles’ features and advantages, while manufacturers benefit from immediate feedback and opportunities to refine their brand positioning. The impact goes far beyond short-term sales, helping to cultivate ecosystems that sustain long-term product and brand development.

For VinFast, its collaborations at GIIAS represent more than marketing initiatives but a form of strategic communication. These initiatives educate the public, reinforce consumer trust in Indonesia, and emphasize the company’s commitment to a sustainable EV ecosystem and the broader green mobility movement. Through an artistic, futuristic, and educational approach, VinFast is not only elevating its brand presence but also building emotional connections with audiences—laying the groundwork for stronger business opportunities in the future.
